Kathleen graduated from Michigan State University
Detroit College of Law where she obtained her Juris
Doctor, cum laude, in 2000. While at Michigan State,
Kathleen was involved in several organizations, including
The Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, The Women's Law
Caucus, and served as the Business Editor for the Journal
of Medicine and Law. Her peers recognized Kathleen's
business savvy and appointed her as Treasurer of the
Medical Legal Society
Prior to attending Michigan State University Detroit
College of Law, Kathleen graduated cum laude, from John
Carroll University where she obtained her degree in
Psychology. A top student in her major, Kathleen was
a member of Psi Chi, an honor society for Psychology
majors. Kathleen earned a minor in Spanish and was a
member of Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Honors Society.
She was active in the local community through her volunteerism
at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Habitat
for Humanity's "Christmas in April." She also
made the time to join Theta Kappa, a social sorority
at John Carroll University.
Along with her academic achievements Kathleen has
the benefit of a diverse legal background. While a student
at Michigan State, she worked with both the Legal Aid
Society of Southwest Michigan and the Legal Aid Society
of Central Michigan. She also worked as a research assistant
to the Poverty Law Committee of the Michigan Legislature.
Since graduation, Kathleen has practiced in several
areas of civil litigation. Just prior to joining Giffen
& Kaminski, she practiced in a mid-size insurance
defense firm and focused on the litigation of insurance
coverage issues. While at this firm, Kathleen's skills
were sharpened and she proved herself to be an asset
to the firm performing legal research, drafting pleadings
and motions.
As a proud alumnus from John Carroll University, Kathleen
remains active as a member of the Alumni Admissions
Committee. Kathleen is a resident of South Euclid where
she resides with her husband and daughter.
