Peggy Foley Jones to speak at the CMBA ADR Event on October 30, 2018

The CMBA’s ADR & Litigation Sections present – ABCs of ADR: Best Practices Guide for Litigators & Neutrals. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 1375 East Ninth St., CMBA Conference Center, One Cleveland Center, 2nd Level, Cleveland, OH (Submitted for 6.00 CLE Hours).

Diane Citrino to Chair Hearing on Ohio School Funding

On Friday, September 14, 2018 the Ohio Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights will convene a series of panel discussions regarding education funding in the state. Diane Citrino will chair the hearing in which the Committee intends to examine Ohio’s school funding formula and its impact on access to education on the basis of color, race, sex, religion, national origin, and/or disability status. The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Cleveland State University Fenn Tower. This meeting is open to the public.

Karen Giffen and Kerin Kaminski recognized as Crain’s Top Executives and Notable Women in Law

#MeToo and #TimesUp in the Workplace:  Handling Claims of Sexual Harassment.  This event will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  The CMBA is partnering with the Better Business Bureau for a half-day CLE, focused on the nuts and bolts of handling claims from both the plaintiff and defense perspectives, as well as tips and best practices for addressing accusations.

Diane Citrino’s article in the April Issue of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Journal is titled: Moving from Institutional Betrayal to Institutional Courage. Betrayal is one of the ugliest and most painful things we experience in our lives. The term institutional betrayal was coined by Dr. Jennifer Freyd and her students in 2009 and refers to wrongdoing perpetuated by an institution upon individuals dependent on that institution.
